SIC Civil
Terms of use
The terms for using SIC Civil during early access.
These terms apply to SIC Civil, the app that connects ChatGPT and other AI assistants to AIPE (SIC, Super Intelligence Civil) projects, provided by Applied Ontologies ("we", "us"). By signing in to SIC Civil you agree to them. If you use SIC Civil for your company, you agree to them for your company too.
Early access
SIC Civil is in early access. We provide it to a small number of civil contractors working with us as design partners, and to the people they appoint. Features change as we build, and we may add, change or retire them. Where your company has a written agreement with us, that agreement applies alongside these terms and prevails if the two differ.
The service
SIC Civil lets an AI assistant you choose read the AIPE projects you are appointed to, within your role, and draft comments on documents, lots and ITP items. You need a login issued by us or through your company.
Your login
- Keep your password, your authenticator app and your recovery codes to yourself. A login is for one person.
- You are responsible for what is done with your login. Tell us straight away at [email protected] if you think someone else has used it.
- We may suspend a login to protect a project or the service, and we tell you when we do.
Acceptable use
- Use SIC Civil only for projects you are appointed to and for your work on them.
- Leave alone any data outside your appointments, the security of the service and other people's use of it.
- Keep the project information you see confidential, as your company's obligations on the project require.
AI answers and your decisions
Answers are assembled by your AI assistant from the project records SIC Civil returns. Each answer names its source. Check that source before you rely on an answer for a safety, quality, environmental or commercial decision. Approving a hold point, lodging a tender and any other act with contractual effect remain with the people who own them in AIPE and under the contract.
Your content
Project records and the comments you draft belong to you or your company. You give us permission to store and process them to provide SIC Civil. We handle personal information as set out in the privacy policy.
Our software
SIC, AIPE and SIC Civil, and the software behind them, belong to Applied Ontologies. You may use them as these terms allow.
Availability
We work to keep SIC Civil available and secure. Maintenance and changes can interrupt it; we give notice of planned interruptions where we can.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits a right or guarantee you have under the Australian Consumer Law or another law that cannot be excluded. Subject to that:
- SIC Civil is provided as it stands during early access, and we give no warranty beyond those the law implies;
- we are liable for no indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, revenue or data;
- our total liability arising from SIC Civil is limited to the fees you or your company paid us for SIC Civil in the 12 months before the claim, or AUD 100 where no fees were paid;
- where the Australian Consumer Law allows us to limit our liability to re-supplying the service or paying for it to be re-supplied, our liability is limited in that way.
Ending access
You can stop using SIC Civil at any time and ask us to close your login. We may end access with reasonable notice, or straight away if a login is misused. Your company's project records stay with your company.
Changes to these terms
When these terms change, we update them on this page with a new effective date and tell login holders by email of any significant change. Using SIC Civil after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and the courts of Queensland have jurisdiction.
